​Loco Lion is a British-American farm brewery and winery room perched atop 26 scenic acres in Loudoun County, offering a true countryside getaway. Our spacious grounds provide the perfect setting to enjoy craft beers, wine, food and live entertainment, while taking in stunning Loudoun County views. Located in historic Hillsboro, a picturesque Quaker settlement dating back to 1752, our pet-friendly site is the perfect spot for the whole family. As a rural farm brewery, we combine traditional brewing methods with the natural beauty of our surroundings to create an unforgettable craft beverage experience.

The Tale of Two Lions

Long before our first pint was poured, two African lion siblings, Jezebel and Justin, were rescued and brought to Hillsboro, VA. A novelty in the area, they attracted numerous visitors. Cross-eyed Justin, the larger of the pair, weighed in at a powerful 530 pounds and was 10 feet long from nose to tail. The 15 pounds of meat he ate each day was often provided by local farmers and hunters. When the lions passed, they were laid to rest on the property. The lingering spirit of these majestic creatures became the inspiration for our brewery name - a tribute to wild beauty, bold character and the untamed joy of living loud.
