About the event
Guy Fawkes Bonfire Night is an annual commemoration observed in early November in Great Britain. Its history begins with the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, part of a gang planning to blow up the House of Lords, was arrested while guarding the explosives. The gang had intended to assassinate King James I and his parliament. Celebrating that the king had survived, people lit bonfires around London. This became a British national holiday. This year, Loco Lion will be celebrating on November 1st with a bonfire, weather permitting.
