POSITION TITLE: Tasting Room Manager REPORTS TO: General Manager
Loco Lion is a limited brewery and farm winery set on 26 acres in Hillsboro, VA. We are seeking a Manager who will be responsible for the planning and execution of sales, operations, brand representation, and financial success of the tasting room. This person will develop and manage a team of highly motivated individuals dedicated to delivering superb service, driving beer sales, and building long-term relationships with guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage the guest experience and the flow of all tours and the tasting room atmosphere ensuring scheduling for staff is done to provide attentive guest service.
Share knowledge about Loco Lion food, beverage, and retail products
Encourage customers to provide positive online reviews for Loco Lion
Inform customers about the Loudoun Ale Trail advantages and rewards
Build relationships with new and regular customers
Retain existing customers through engagement, follow-up and by providing outstanding customer service with all customer interactions.
Serves as a peer mentor to other employees, sharing institutional and beer knowledge to elevate the performance of the overall team.
Uphold all Virginia ABC regulations and guidelines
Use Point of Sale system efficiently
Uphold SOPs, safety, cleanliness, and service standards
Oversee day-to-day hospitality operations in accordance with our operating protocols.
Fills in when needed to ensure guest needs are met, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
Hire, train, coach and manage the tasting room team. Conduct performance reviews and provide on-going feedback for all tasting room personnel.
Develop and implement growth plan for improving visitor’s experience & loyalty.
Achieve sales targets by growing conversion rates, average order sizes and increasing visitor count, all while ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. Track daily and monthly retail sales. Measure sales results against expectations and sales promotions.
Manages the budget for the team ensuring expenses are in alignment to forecast.
Handle customer concerns in a positive, expedient manner.
Meet and greet VIP customers to ensure they have had a positive experience.
Responsible for the POS System including training, reporting and trouble shooting.
Ensure the provision of all collateral pieces in support of the tasting room and visitors
center.
Develop educational opportunities for staff to ensure beer & industry knowledge
is current and appropriate.
Coordinate with sales & marketing for accommodating and reporting on trade visits.
Ensure the tasting room facility is in pristine condition and well maintained.
Coordinate the entry of new products and orders into POS, and ensure orders are
compliant with state regulations.
Communicates guest, operational, staff and facility-related issues to the General Manager, regularly and consistently.
Proactively identifies opportunities/challenges and suggests methods to improve hospitality standards removing barriers to ensure goals and targets are met.
Conducts inventory regularly and orders all supplies (general office, hospitality, and food items).
Completes other assignments and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in brewery, winery, hospitality and / or luxury sales, management, or operational experience.
Bachelor’s degree
Eligible to work in the United States
Must have own transportation
Preferred: Cicerone certified

The Lead Cook ensures that proper planning and execution of the defined culinary program is accomplished. This person manages the team to ensure that the kitchen remains clean, assist with food preparation, and ensures all cooking equipment is in proper working order. The Lead Cook is responsible for providing a high level of capable support to the General Manager.

Loco Lion is a new, taproom-focused, farm brewery in Hillsboro, Virginia. Our brewery is under construction and will feature a 10BBL system. Grand opening is planned for summer 2025.
We are seeking a self-motivated and dependable individual to provide full-time support for our Brewery Operations Manager. Our preferred candidate will take direction well, be passionate about craft beer, and interested in a career in this industry. The internship start date and duration is flexible.
Job Responsibilities:
Work onsite at the brewery, or at brewery events elsewhere in Loudoun County.
Work primarily from 9 to 5 weekdays, with infrequent evening or weekend hours.
Assist with a variety of beer production activities
Immediately notify the Brewery Operations Manager of any problems
Support the maintenance and cleaning of all brewery equipment, tap lines, kegs, coolers, and the production area.
Lift heavy packages of raw materials
Transport both full and empty kegs
Ensure quality control and assurance throughout all brewery operations
Support brewery events when possible
Qualifications:
Must possess a strong collaborative nature and a positive can-do attitude
Must have proof of successful completion of brewery-related classes
Computer literacy
Strong customer service experience
Physical strength, flexibility, and stamina
Ability to work safely with hazardous materials including CO2, acids, caustics, and sanitizers
