Where can I stay in historic Hillsboro?Hillsboro has a number of historic lodging options. A great way to take in Hillsboro’s history is to let the B&B innkeepers of The Gap be your guides—and serve up a delicious breakfast to start your day’s adventures. https://www.hillsborova.gov/stay

What's the Lions' Story?Six-month old lion siblings moved to Hillsboro in the 1980s. The lions, Justin and Jezebel, became a huge novelty in the town. Justin even rode on a float in a local parade. They were eventually buried side by side in the center of what is now the Loco Lion property. Their memorial site is marked for visitors.

How do you brew your beer? Our master brewer, Jose Ayala, formerly of Boston Beer Company/Sam Adams, develops each Loco Lion beer using time-honored traditions with modern craft techniques. Every batch benefits from our crystal-clear Blue Ridge Mountain water and carefully selected ingredients, ensuring consistent quality across our rotating selection of craft beers.
-
Is your mead locally sourced? At the far side of the brewery property you may notice bee hives. We use that honey to make a small amount of mead every year. It is made entirely on our premises. Our honey may occasionally be featured in a beer as well.

Is Loco Lion environmentally focused? We believe in being good stewards of our hilltop home.
